War stories and crushing the KPI

We spent last week at the NACVA conference in Las Vegas. Great opportunity to connect with CoreValue-powered advisors (aka customers).  They shared lots of great war stories about building a winning practice using CoreValue.  You know pros using CoreValue to win client engagements is the KPI, right? 

During the conference we delivered 18 hours (!!!) of Consultants in Meetinglearning, laser-focused on “Building a Thriving Business Consulting Practice.” How did it go? Here’s one comment: “What a great couple of days at the CoreValue Boot Camp. It was fantastic...”  Why thank you Katrina, it was a lot of fun.  And thanks NACVA for a great week.

Do you want to hear a great story shared during the “Expanding Services and Customer Retention Using CoreValue®” session?  Customer Garth Tebay, Managing Partner at Value Defined LLC was competing to win a valuation engagement against a large 'super regional' firm.

The other firm had slick collateral and a big city name. The gig was that firm’s to lose… Do you want to know what Garth did?  He used CoreValue Discover (the 10 minute initial assessment of company strength and value) as part of his pitch. Garth is smart: this allowed him and his team to show they really understood the client’s business and could help beyond the valuation engagement --they showed they knew how to help the client grow.  Powerful message: Garth and Value Defined LLC 1, Big City Firm 0.  The client started by asking for a valuation, and ended up committing to a deeper consulting engagement. Dang. 

Think about your proposals that didn't pan out: would having Garth's weapon help your practice?  You bet it would. 

The class was rated highly, someone going so far as to come up afterwards and say “Thanks, I got real, useful knowledge... Things I can apply to my practice right away.” Thanks back at you, Tony.
